Judicial Review
Barnet Council has now informed us they are contesting our claim that The Burroughs & Middlesex University SPD - the “Blueprint” for the Hendon Hub development - cannot be lawfully adopted in advance of the adoption of the local plan. The papers have gone before a judge who will decide if the case will proceed to court.
United Nations Aarhus Convention
On 13th December 2021, the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee which oversees the United Nations Treaty on the right to information and public participation in environmental decision-making will consider a challenge by the Hendon Residents Planning Forum. The complaint is that the London Borough of Barnet have violated a number of provisions of the treaty: obstructing access to environmental information, pre-deciding the Hendon Hub development in advance of public participation, violating rights to public participation in decision-making and violating residents’ rights to access justice.
