RHDV2 RABBIT VIRUS HAS NO VACCINE IN AUSTRALIA and is NOT species specific.... think about that for a minute..... NOT species specific... it kills HARES and Hares are genetically DIFFERENT to rabbits..... we already have anecdotal evidence (as YET unproven) that other animals MAY be affected also by RHDV2. It can happen even if it is proven not to have happened yet, it can happen as its already known and accepted world wide that it is NOT species specific...... Rabbits are dying in many many thousands, both wild and domestic from this nasty virus..... We need a vaccine to protect our precious domestic rabbits.... as soon as is possible.... Government says they are developing one ..... but we need this project to be fast tracked . Our domestic rabbits are dropping like flies from this terrible virus... It is causing the most gut wrenching heartache for the poor people who are losing their domestic pets to this horrible virus... Government says they don't know how it got here.... but are not doing anything to contain its spread as one would expect in a normal bio security outbreak.... why not? It is also widely known and admitted that this RHDV2 was imported into this country legally for RESEARCH...... the first official find of a rabbit death from RHDV2 was within walking distance of the research station.... found by a researcher.... now you do not have to be a rocket scientist to join the dots here...... It is vital that this petition is signed and sent far and wide .... tell the world we need vaccines .... tell them this virus is out of control here and no one is stopping it... in fact I suspect it is being helped to spread by those who wish to see all wild rabbits dead... This is not the way to manage wild rabbits... its dangerous as already its not species specific and could be a disaster in the making for the future just like the cane toad debacle. thankyou for listening...
