Stop The Abuse of the Sea Lions in La Jolla

Action needs to be taken to enforce the legal protections accorded to the seals and sea lions in La Jolla, California. Repeated incursions by visitors, guests and members of the public into what is supposed to be an off limits area continue to harass, frighten, injure (even kill) vulnerable pups and their mothers.    If the situation continues unaddressed, not only will more pups die, but the potential for serious injuries to both animals and guests will spiral out of control.

It is time to address this situation with effective and positive action.  The Marine Mammal Protection Act was created to address just such situations.  If people will not heed the posted warnings and instructions given by local law enforcement personnel, then the law needs to be applied fairly and equitably across the board so that the abuse and harassment stops.

Thank you
