Recently, the USA and other Pacific Nations have been in talks finalizing the TPP. What is the TPP, might you ask. Well, I’m glad you did!

The TPP stands for Trans-Pacific-Partnership and is classified as a “Free Trade Agreement”. However, inside the TPP there are nasty little details regarding medication, the environment, and Net Neutrality. For instance, the TPP would allow companies to make the price of medication skyrocket. Just imagine paying  three, four or even five fives as much for Tylenol as you do now. Imagine having a drug come out for your health issue, but it cost you an absurd amount of money.

The TPP also threatens Net Neutrality and Global Environmental Protection Laws. Remember SOPA? Or more recently the Time Warner Cable and Comcast Merger Deal? Yeah, that same oppression, but on a much larger scale. Companies, right now, have certain environmental regulations that prevent companies from either pumping harmful particles into the air. Or placing waste into waterways? Well, if these laws “hurt the bottom line” these companies will be able to go around those laws.

Sound horrifying? It is. Tell your local and state representative what you think of the TPP (Don’t be rude/curse please, it never helps)

Recently, more information has come out about the "Internet" portion of the TPP. Copyrights are 70+ years long. Digital locks can be broken. National laws are sidelined. Your ISP will be able to block your internet, just for clicking on something. This could cut people off from otherwise free to access data.
