Currently 4% of America's land is protected as national parkland.  Everything else could eventually become condos.  Our wildlife is in a free fall.  Wildlife makes up only 5% of land animals by weight - everything else is people and livestock.  Every wildlife species is on its way to going extinct.  It's time to start a Noah's Ark now.

Environmentalist E.O. Wilson calls for a "Half Earth Movement", devoting half our land to protected natural areas.  Let's start with at least 25%.  If we exterminate 99% of wildlife species, our ecosystems will all collapse and humanity will be next.

The President of the United States can by himself declare any parcel of land to be national parkland.  He has done this many times, more than most presidents in recent memory.  But it's not enough.  Tell him to do even more.  Let's aim for 25%.  Montana has hardly any people.  Why not set aside most of Montana?  How about most of Alaska?  How about the Dakotas?  We can find the areas.  Anywhere where there are still few people and lots of trees - we need to protect these areas before they're all gone.
