Justice for Soraya and Jumana Salti

Justice for Soraya and Jumana Salti
The Issue
On the weekend of November 6, 2015, Jordan, and indeed the Arab world, lost -under mysterious circumstances- two beautiful souls: Soraya and Jumana Salti.
Their death came to us -the Jordanian community- as a shock as they were two prominent Jordanian sisters, with high-flying careers and everything to live for, so the main question was and still is: why would they take their own lives by jumping off a building together?
On November 15, 2015, South Amman Prosecutor General has decided to ban publication of information or news concerning the death of Soraya and Jumana Salti. This decision has made things even more mysterious to all of us, and the public are now demanding answers to all of their questions.
- Soraya was a founder of INJAZ Al-Arab, a non-government organisation promoting entrepreneurship and youth education in the Arab world, and she was recently ranked among the 100 most powerful Arab women.
- Her sister Jumana, 37, was a director of professional services multinational PricewaterhouseCoopers based in the United Arab Emirates. Both held US citizenship.
We urge you to investigate this and find answers for their loved ones, family, friends and the Jordanian community. We are petitioning the President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama and members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to act now and find justice for this case.
