There are no national holidays for Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels, and that needs to be fixed. Considering the congressional gridlock currently plaguing our government, only an executive order can make this happen swiftly. Trout is an absurdly talented baseball player, as entertaining as Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle or Babe Ruth in their respective primes. The public is blessed to be able to watch such a transcendent athlete in his prime and, with baseball being the national pastime, it's appropriate to honor Trout with a day of his own. Not to mention, he's a wholesome and All-American Joe who never would embarrass himself or the game. If we don't act, we're only denying ourselves the truth -- and America shouldn't be about that.
