Jack Bauer has been such an iconic character on American and worldwide television screens for over 13 years. We have watched him defeat even the most insurmountable of odds when trying to save the world from the very real and terrifying threat of terrorism. Millions of people have watched him lose the people whom he has loved the most in order to save a country that does not appreciate him. We have shared his story for such a long time. Now, after the successful revival "Live Another Day", Kiefer is reluctant to return to the role as he is getting older and wants to pursue other projects. As a result, FOX executives are planning a spinoff of 24. Although this idea has the potential to be successful, fans cannot truly engage in a new story within the "24 verse" when the personal and tragic tale of our troubled antihero is not yet finished. A lifetime in a Russian prison cannot be his ultimate fate. Just like in the series, a personal communication by the President of the United Sates might show Kiefer, along with this petition, that the fans are not yet ready to leave Jack Bauer behind. My hope is that he will be inspired to return to the role one final time, before it is too late, to provide himself and fans the opportunity to say a final and proper farewell to the groundbreaking character.
