With a new federal government in power, I have asked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to ensure Canadian women are honoured on our bank notes. I’ve added him to our petition, which previously called on Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz and the Minister of Finance – now Bill Morneau – to take action. Today I reached out to Prime Minister Trudeau for support, in a letter which I have also posted on my heroines.ca website (http://www.heroines.ca/celebrate/currency7.html). “Because it’s 2015” and a gender-balanced cabinet was recently appointed, let’s work together to convince the new team in Ottawa to celebrate women from Canadian history on our notes!
