Petition updateBank of Canada: Add women from Canadian history to Canadian bank notesWill Toronto Support Canadian Women on Bank Notes?

Toronto councillor Mary Fragedakis, supported by Sarah Doucette, is asking the City of Toronto to support our demands for Canadian women to be celebrated on bank notes. Councillors will vote on the motion on September 30, on the eve of Women's History Month in Canada. Let's hope that councillors will pass the motion, which would see Toronto City Council formally requesting the Bank of Canada to take action on this issue. Kudos to Mary Fragedakis for preparing a great motion (which could be used as a model for other municipalities across the country) and submitting this in Toronto! "Councillor Mary Fragedakis, seconded by Councillor Sarah Doucette, recommends that: 1. City Council request the Bank of Canada to feature Canadian women on our bank notes in order to proudly reflect the important and valued contributions of Canadian women in our society."
