Thank you for signing - we’re up to 85 now. Today of all days, this petition recognises the determination of the men and women that went before us to win the right to vote. It’s 100 years today that women - some women! - were acknowleged in the Representation of the People Act. They’d been campaining since men - some men! - had gained suffrage in the Reform Act of 1832. Some quietly campaigned with petitions. Some were more militant. Some were imprisoned. Some were force-fed. Some died. Today, give thanks to them, men and women, and help me get their efforts recognised in Bangor. Please share.
