Shahidul Alam has been detained on remand for 7 days, simply for doing his job. His deep compassion, humanity, and unflagging defence of the most marginalised and voiceless people in our communities has touched so many around the world over the years. He should not have been detained in the first place, but must certainly be allowed bail.
