Last night, Bungay Town Council held their full council meeting - please find a Summary of the what we heard during the Bungay Town Council’s Full Meeting Thursday 17th November 2022

A motion was put forward to inform the highways, the police and the police commissioner of the fact that the hunt may go ahead.

The councillor (who abstained from the actual vote due to having a pecuniary interest) spoke well and said they need to ensure that the law is upheld Frances Betts (Deputy Mayor) didn’t want it discussed as she said they had taken a stand on it at a previous meeting but they went ahead discussing it anyway.

No one said outright during the meeting that they were in favour of it. Tradition was mentioned but a councillor who was slightly out of shot said he was sitting making a note of “traditions” which had been done away with like ducking stools and sending children down mines but he seemed to be stopped from continuing.

The motion was passed with all but one for and the one was the abstention from the councillor who added the police commissioner to the proposal and wanted to see the law upheld.

The council agreed to revisit the matter in January's meeting
