Warning: Avoid TRACKER tariffs - Tracker tariffs TRACK the price cap, so they will go up when energy prices rise!
I'm sure you've all seen the news today, our energy bills are increasing by 13.5% from July to September. Hilariously, part of this change actually comes with a 25p reduction in our standing charges - thats not 25p a month, but 25p across the whole of one year, about 2p per month. I'm actually taking this as a win, with the price cap jumping 13.5% at least our standing charges aren't going to be what bites us over the summer!
In other news, Uswitch have an exclusive tariff with Fuse Energy that offers a £232 saving on the July price cap, and is actually a few pound cheaper than today's price cap. If your deal is coming to a close soon, or you're already on a variable tariff, please click the link above and have a look at switching to a fixed rate today, it'll save you money in the long run.
The article above gives you more information on how the unit rates and standing charges will be impacted. Please give it a read.
I'm working on a consultation response at the moment, I'll get it out to you all in the next few days.
Thanks all,
Richard Winstone
The Regulator Guy.
