Hi everyone,

Sorry, tonne of updates here, I'll list below then give some information on each:

Right, as I said, sorry for all of the different bits today, it's been a busy week! 

First, there is a Uswitch-exclusive EDF tariff that is being withdrawn from the market at midnight on 8 June 2025. Sometimes these petition updates don't get emailed out until the following day, so I apologise if you miss it. If you're not seeing this until Monday or Tuesday, then hopefully the E.ON Next Fixed 12M v61 is still available, which has been the cheapest tariff in the market for the last few days. Fixed rate deals are always cheaper, so make sure you get switched if you're on a variable tariff.

Next, the Government Spending Review is to be announced by Rachel Reeves on 11 June, I think there will be some announcements on the government's plans for the energy industry so I'll keep a close eye on this. The article above goes through what the spending review is and what experts are expecting to be announced. 

I've also been reading up on the Dieselgate scandal, turns out the first major courtcase is being held in October, so I thought it'd be worth writing some information in an article on what is happening. If you have ever owned a diesel car that was manufactured between 2008 and 2020, it is worth giving that article a read. 

Finally, the summer months naturally result in lower switching volumes. This means that The Regulator Guy isn't making enough revenue to keep the lights on whilst I'm still building a following. So, I've reignited a crowdfunding page I had last year, please give it a look and donate anything you can. This should mean that I'm able to keep The Regulator Guy operational over the warmer months, keeping Ofgem on their toes and helping people save money on their bills.
