Explanatory Blog: Introduction of the Network Charge Compensation Scheme

Great news for those of you sitting at home, watching the snow, thinking "I wish my energy bill was higher"!

Ofgem are now looking at making us pay for the network charges for Energy Intensive Businesses, so that they can become more competitive in European markets. Now, I'm not sure how that fits into their mandate of protecting energy consumers, but I'm sure they have a logic somewhere...

I have written the above blog post to explain what they're doing, but I've taken a balanced approach, explaining things how Ofgem have tried to explain them in the consultation document.

I'll be posting my response in the next couple of day, and that will be worded a lot more strongly. The idea that we're now being charged to cover energy costs of big businesses is ridiculous.

Please subscribe to my blog so you get notified when the blog is uploaded and you can tell Ofgem your thoughts as well.

Thanks all, enjoy the rest of your snowy weekend.
