Does Australia genuinely desire to be a part of this?

If we consult the Australian people, we will undoubtedly receive a resounding “No!”

Our legacy will be defined by our actions and words.

This is not an opportune moment for a timid leader, nor is it acceptable to engage in safe denial or inaction. Standing up to a bully is not a sign of weakness.

Politicians who have the opportunity to make a difference but fail to do so due to fear will not be viewed favourably by the future. They will be judged as complicit in a lack of action.

The excuse of “following orders” is one that we rejected 80 years ago, and we cannot accept it now.
