The economic value of Australia’s defence equipment and arms imports from the United States far exceeds the annual value of the PBS system.

It is imperative that we rectify the misconception that we are not contributing our fair share or are somehow deserving of unequal treatment. To address this, we should directly allocate this expenditure to European and Asian allies.

As is widely acknowledged, some individuals only appreciate the status quo when it is threatened.

We should provide the United States with this experience without resorting to any retaliatory tariffs.

Tariffs are unnecessary when our trade balance is favourable. All we need to do is cease purchasing from the US.

Given that the Australian Government Defence Department is the largest customer, this should be a straightforward task.
