Hello everyone! I cannot believe the support this petition has received. First, I want to clarify a few things: I created this petition to get the attention of District 20 and the superintendent, and we have accomplished as much. Second, my ultimate goal would be to ban the display (e.g. hanging or framing) of Confederate flags in publicly-funded schools in District 20. In a meeting I had with District 20 HR and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) representatives today, they said that they would discuss this matter and further action as they complete an “equity audit” of the district. Nothing was set in stone, so I will be checking in on the matter, but for now it is up to them to pursue the matter further. Again, thank you all for the support and cheers to change!!
