Toronto's strategy to reduce single-use and takeaway items: results from Phase 1 of consultations

Encouraging was the fact that Torontonians said they wanted an approach that "prioritizes reduction or reuse, over ensuring that the items are recyclable or compostable. Preventing waste from requiring management through source reduction supports more efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective use of resources than any available form of waste processing or disposal."
