On January 19, 2026, a veterinarian at a private equity-owned clinic recommended that I euthanize my senior German Shepherd, Nitka.

I refused and chose life.

Today, my sweet girl is still here—133 days later.  She has medical challenges, but Nitka is happy, engaged, and proving every day that she deserved a chance.

We need serious veterinary care reform, higher standards, and greater accountability in Georgia and throughout America.
