Nature Wins

Wild honeybee colonies in Newcastle , Kempsey and the central coast nsw are thriving despite having high varroamite counts .

Even in the previous redzones left to nature the wild colonies are thriving and even throwing out healthy swarms.

Some beekeepers speculate our wild colonies are decedent from Russia and have mite resistance.

The @nswdpi who spent over 100 million dollars killing bees have also conceded that varroa was here a lot longer and farther reaching than they let the public know but are yet to apologise for all the  traumatic errors that saw them kill billions and of bees contaminate much of nsw with the poison Fipronil.

Australia is still at risk of importing viruses that accompany varroa like deformed wing virus but that can only enter Australia so we still need to be vigilant not to import viruses through the importation on queenbees or drone sperm.
