Petition updateBan lion trophy hunting imports into the UKOver 500,000 signatures, we could get the UK Government to debate the issue in Parliament.

This week we met with yet another Member of the UK Parliament in Westminster to talk through the issues. She has now joined the growing ranks of MPs who are right behind us on this campaign.
She has suggested that when Parliament reconvenes with a new Prime Minister and Cabinet, if we get to over 500,000 signatures on the petition, we may well be able to get the UK Government to debate this crucial issue in Parliament itself, instead of only in Westminster Hall as an Adjournment Debate. If this happens, with our growing number of MPs behind us, it could make the sea change we are striving for. SO PLEASE KEEP SIGNING!! Ask all your friends and colleagues to sign if they haven’t already done so. Share the petition as widely as you can. And above all, thank you all SO much for the support on this campaign. It’s working and we are building the pressure on the UK Government to do the right thing by lions.

In other news, today we have written to all 10 hopefuls who have put their names forward to be the next Prime Minister, asking them to make a clear and responsible statement that the UK will no longer condone lion trophy hunting and will ban the import of lion trophies into the UK.
Let’s see if any of them reply to us and if they do, you will be the first to know!

A big thank you to all those who have donated to this crucial campaign. If you haven’t yet done so, please DONATE if you can. This is going to take a lot of resources but with your help, we can win this epic battle.
Thank you one and all. You are amazing!!
