Dear City of San Diego Council Members and Landscape Contractors

During these difficult and uncertain times we urge you to call for the immediate cessation of Leaf Blower Use. The airborne pollutants that these machines create are harmful without the potential of spreading the CoronaVirus.

Now for the bad news: Airborne transmission is “plausible,” according to a study (that has not been peer reviewed) posted online this week from scientists at Princeton University, the University of California, Los Angeles and the National Institutes of Health. The researchers concluded that the virus could remain airborne for “up to 3 hours post aerosolization.”

Until the data is in and and we know how this virus replicates and spreads let’s err on the side of caution and put our citizens more at ease.
