Ban Latex gloves in food service and restaurants.

Ban Latex gloves in food service and restaurants.
The Issue
This is a photo of my sister Kara who died from complications from latex allergy. I am asking you to support SB 677, SB 677 bill which will protect restaurant workers and customers by prohibiting the use of latex gloves in food service operations and retail food establishments. There are readily available alternatives to latex gloves. Nitrile, vinyl, and polyethylene gloves offer the same barrier and hygienic protections as latex and are available at prices equal to or often less than latex gloves.
SOLUTION
To protect both restaurant workers and customers, SB 677 prohibits the use latex gloves in food service operations and retail food establishments. Existing law requires gloves to be worn under certain circumstances. In those situations, SB 677 would require alternatives such as nitrile, vinyl, or polyethylene glove options which are often less expensive while providing the same barrier protection as latex.
