Latex allergies effect over 7 million people in the United States. Food prepared with latex gloves have the potential to cause an allergic reaction, shock and even death. Powdered latex gloves have an increase potential to cause an allergic reaction because the powder sends the latex proteins into the air then inhaled. Restaurant staff are at risk of developing an allergy to latex by using latex gloves on a continued basis. Many states have passed legislation banning latex glove use in their restaurants. By Florida passing a law banning Latex Glove Use in All Florida Restaurants would not only protect the customer but restaurant staff. Sign the petition to pass a latex glove ban law by March 2013.
