At the city Council meeting on Monday, March 6, staff asked the council for $116,000 to hire an out of state consulting firm to help further their efforts in making scooters permanent.

Thanks to the wisdom of certain council members, and to the concerned people who spoke in public comment, the council decided not to approve the agreement with the consulting firm at this time. They have decided that nothing shall be done until a poll of WeHo residents has been conducted, and the results are known.

Your signatures and comments were instrumental in making the city Council realize that they need to find out if scooters really are wanted here or if people want them gone! So thank you very much!

But we still need to keep fighting because they haven’t outright banned them yet. Hopefully they will once this poll has been conducted. Please spread the word, and keep asking people to sign the petition. Right now we have 510 signatures, but it will be even more powerful if we can get to 1000 signatures and that’s what I’m hoping for!

Thank you for all your support and please continue to let people know that scooters are not safe, and that West Hollywood would be much better off without them clogging our sidewalks and putting our citizens in jeopardy!
