Revealed: A list of businesses which shamefully advertised in the booklet for the recent coursing meeting in Millstreet, County Cork, conveyed "best wishes" to the coursers and/or sponsored the coursing.

At the 2-day coursing meet, hares captured in the wild and held in captivity, were forced to run for their lives from pairs of greyhounds in a bloodsport which the majority in Ireland wants banned.

Sickening video footage filmed at Millstreet Town Park on 31 December 2021 shows captive hares crammed into cages https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9KmTeWClDc during the coursing meeting. The terrified and traumatised hares were among those used as live lures.

The hares were snatched from the wild in nets thanks to a licence shamefully issued by Fianna Fail Heritage Minister Darragh O’Brien and Green Party Minister of State Malcolm Noonan, who disregarded the cruelty of coursing and the fact that a 77 per cent majority in Ireland want it outlawed.

The coursing in Millstreet took place in the town park which was shut down to the public for most of December and New Year’s Day. A large group of protestors gathered near the entrance to condemn the cruelty and the closure of the park.
