The Irish Council Against Blood Sports thanks everyone who joined us for our demonstration in Dublin on Thursday August 6th. The demo succeeded in highlighting the cruelty of hare coursing to thousands. It took place outside the Department of Arts and Heritage on Kildare Street where our message to Minister Heather Humphreys was to stop licensing hare coursing. A decision on the latest coursing licence application is expected this month and we hope that, given the ongoing injuries and deaths caused to hares as well as the numerous breaches of licence conditions last season, the Minister will do the right thing and stop facilitating this shameful activity. Numerous copies of our "Ireland's Cruel BloodSports" leaflet were handed out to pedestrians on the day. The response was very positive with many expressing support. Many thanks again to all the individuals and groups who attended the demo.
