Petition update

MP presents our petition in Ottawa!

Ned Taylor for Saanich Council
Victoria, Canada

Nov 6, 2017 — Hi everyone,

NDP MP Murray Rankin has presented our petition to the federal government in Ottawa! Rankin made strong arguments in the House that puts pressure on the government. "[this petition] calls on the Minister of Agriculture to outright ban battery cages, enriched cages and all other cages from Canada's egg industry"

I also want to follow up on our last update which instructs everyone to meet with their local MLA to tell them about battery cages and ask that your concerns be passed along to the Minister of Agriculture (Lana Popham).

If you haven't yet met with yours, send them an email requesting a meeting. If they don't respond to your email within a few days, call their office.

If you have met your MLA - that's great! Send me an email and let me know how it went: nedtaylor27@gmail.com

This is a crucial step to putting pressure on our Minister of Agriculture to get cracking on banning inhumane caged eggs. I hope we can all pull together and ensure the Ministry hears our voices.

Talk soon,

Ned Taylor
