Situation Critical at Balaji Temple

The Temple is at serious risk of falling into the wrong hands
We need your help to stop this disaster.
On May 12th in London, 3 Directors of the dormant company (TTBT) , Dr Rajah, Mr Ramana Rao and Mr Joginder Sanger improperly attempted to add further 4 directors without any consultation of members or a proper board decision .
In doing so they try to tip the balance of the board in their favour so they can ‘take over’ the temple thus guaranteeing their position as permanent directors.
They claim there are only 2 members rather than 300, conveniently forgetting that in 1998 they were elected to their position in the company by members !
The Trust (SVBT) has been managing the temple for the last 30 years. At the AGM last week one trustee also a director of the company, Dr Rajah, stated that the trust SVBT was ‘defunct and no longer a legitimate body. The assets should be … transferred to TTBT , the company. He then refused to answer any questions from the floor supposedly on the basis of his lawyer’s advice.
Members reject this assertion and have called for a vote for all Trustees to step down.
Members have also called for a special meeting of the company (TTBT) to remove them as directors and to vote on a new constitution
Changes proposed in the Company
· No ‘permanent’ trustees. Six elected trustees. One trustee co-opted
· Increase in number of members
· Extensive governance update to current Charities commission standards
· to make the organisation democratic , transparent and accountable.
Help prevent the Temple from being taken over by a London based company with predominantly unelected, self-appointed trustees with unfettered power in perpetuity.
If the company TTBT is allowed to take over the temple in its current form all of us will cease to have any say in how the Temple is run.
