Freddy’s Cathouse is a small charity in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, that does a lot of work with street cats & hotel cats. This includes: caring for sick cats, feeding street cats, providing feeding stations, TNR (trap, neuter, return), hotel support and generally keeping cats healthy and population under control.
In doing this, Freddy is adhering to the European Strategy for Animal Welfare.
With the support of local volunteers and holiday makers, Freddy's Cathouse spends all its time tirelessly raising funds for food, vets bills and care. Their dream is to provide a permanent cat shelter and cat cafe in Playa Blanca and have raised a lot of money already, but sadly nowhere near enough to purchase premises in Playa Blanca.
Yaiza Council have already given permission for Freddy to place feeding stations on Council land, but it would be such an enormous benefit if they could provide premises, or land, in order for Freddy’s Cathouse to use the money they raise to continue feeding and treating Playa Blanca's cats.
This would benefit the local area, as Freddy’s Cathouse could then accommodate and look after many more cats, leading to a healthy and controlled population for the area of Yaiza
