Actualmente, en Donosti, no se dan permisos para la venta ambulante de comida en sus calles. La excepción se da en grandes fiestas oficiales, como por ejemplo Santo Tomás, en las que existen subvenciones por parte del ayuntamiento. En estos tiempos en los que vivimos,

1. la venta ambulante de comida está cogiendo fuerza en todo el mundo. Y no es comida 'de basura', si no comida de alta cocina, hecho por chefs conocidos.

2. estamos en crisis, y cada puerta que se puede abrir a gente joven y emprendadora hay que abrir.

Si se puede hacer con buen gusto en San Sebastián Gastronomika, con todo el mundo mirando, ¿por qúe no hacerlo durante todo el año? Con normas, cumpliendo con regulaciones sanitarias, etc, pero al menos, otorgar la oportunidad de intentarlo a la gente.

En una ciudad que se conoce por la gastronomía, hay que seguir evolucionando para mantener esa fuente de negocio, reconocimiento y turismo. Retamos al ayuntamiento que conceda algunos permisos como prueba durante un año hasta que se prueba el éxito de la venta de comida en la calle.

Currently, San Sebastián does not allow any permits for the sale of street food. The exception happens in official fiestas, and only in the case of large sums of money being donated to the town hall.  In the times we live,

1. the sale of street food is being popularized all over the world.  And it's not junk food, but haute cuisine, often made by famous chefs.

2. we are in a recession, and each door that can be opened to young entrepreneurs should be.

If it can be done in good taste at San Sebastian Gastronomika, with the whole world watching, why not do it all year? With laws, rules, sanitation etc, but at least allowing people to try.

In a city known for food, we have to continue evolving to maintain this source of business, renown, and tourism.  We challenge the ayuntamiento to allow some permits as a trial during a year, until the success of street food is proven.
