The oaks are safe - for at least 12 months

Thank you to all you valiant tree-supporters who signed our petition. The message really got through to AXA who paid for an independent surveyor's report and an independent arboriculturalist's report. Both said that the trees should be left as they are and that felling them would in fact have made the subsidence worse! Which just goes to show that you should never accept things at face value from big multi-national corporations. We have set up SHIFT (Stop Home Insurers Felling Trees) to try and change this belief that trees are expendable. If you hear of any more cases like the Queen's Wood Oaks just send them to us for advice. Meanwhile, we are closing this petition and celebrating our success.
