Hello beautiful people!
Yesterday hundreds of people turned out in-person at Tweed New Haven Airport to show Avelo how serious we are. We demand they end their deportation contract with ICE NOW.
It was a clear, sunny day and we brought joy to our resistance. Aaron Jafferis brought spoken word. Taite gave us music. And speaker, after speaker, after speaker shared their disgust at Avelo’s unethical choice to put profits over people. Allies including National Immigration Law Center, Semilla Collective, the New Haven Board of Alders, New Haven Rising, numerous elected officials, and many more joined the fight to hold Avelo accountable.
Over the course of 2 hours, we distributed nearly 100 lawn signs and dozens of flyers to passersby. The overwhelming response from neighbors and travelers was resounding cheers in solidarity!
The escalation must continue.
And, speaking of continuing the fight, Burbank, Rochester and Wilmington launched their own protests this week! The momentum is building. Keep up the pressure! The more we are out together in-person, the more likely we are to prevent innocent civilians from potentially violent and illegal deportations on Avelo flights.
What you can do today:
- Tell your friends to sign the pledge to not fly Avelo! 34,000 of you have already signed. We know with your help, we can reach 50,000.
- If you’re near an Avelo hub, connect with immigrant led groups coming together to demonstrate opposition to Avelo’s ICE contract. Call your local representatives. Research sweetheart deals and tax breaks Avelo may have received from your municipality or state.

¡Hola gente bonita!
Ayer cientos de personas aparecieron en persona en el aeropuerto Tweed de New Haven para mostrar a Avelo qué serios somos.
Exigimos que Avelo termine su contrato de deportación con ICE AHORA.
Ayer fue un día claro y soleado y trajimos alegría a nuestra resistencia. Aaron Jafferis compartio un poema. Taite nos compartio música. Y un orador tras otro compartió su disgusto por la decisión inmoral de Avelo de poner sus ganancias económicas sobre las personas. Aliados como el National Immigration Law Center, Semilla Collective, la Junta de Concejales de New Haven, New Haven Rising, varios funcionarios electos, y muchas otras organizaciones, se unieron a la lucha para responsabilizar a Avelo.
En el transcurso de 2 horas, hemos distribuido cerca de 100 carteles de césped y docenas de volantes a los transeúntes. La mayoría de las respuestas de los vecinos y viajeros fueron una sonora ovación de solidaridad.
La escalada debe continuar.
Y, hablando de continuar la lucha, Burbank, Rochester y Wilmington han lanzado sus propias protestas esta semana. El movimiento va en aumento. ¡Mantengan la presión! Cuanto más salgamos juntos en persona, más probabilidades tendremos de evitar que civiles inocentes sean deportados de forma potencialmente violenta e ilegal en vuelos de Avelo.

- Dile a tus amigos que firmen el compromiso de no volar con Avelo. 34.000 de vosotros ya habéis firmado el compromiso. Sabemos que podemos llegar a 50.000.
- Si estás cerca de un centro de Avelo, conéctate con grupos liderados por inmigrantes que se unan para manifestar su oposición al contrato de Avelo con ICE. Llama a tus representantes locales. Investiga los tratos de favor y las exenciones fiscales que Avelo pueda haber recibido de tu municipio o estado.
