Today we are launching a new series.
Over the coming weeks, we will share the real stories of Australian families who have sought Proton Therapy, often travelling overseas in the middle of a medical crisis because Australia does not yet have an operational proton therapy centre.
These are not statistics. These are stories of real Australians. People forced to make impossible decisions.
Proton therapy is not experimental. It has been used internationally for decades, with more than 120 centres operating across the Northern Hemisphere.
Australia has a purpose-built facility, the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research in Adelaide.
It remains unopened.
This series is not about blame. It is about impact.
We believe policy discussions should include the human reality behind them. Each story will show:
• The diagnosis
• The treatment journey
• The cost of travelling overseas
• The outcome
• And why access matters
If you believe Australian families should be able to access life-saving cancer treatment on Australian soil, please follow, share and support the petition.

Health equity should not depend on the ability to get on a plane.
Faces of Proton begins now.
