We, members of the Australian water and wastewater industry, including engineers, scientists, academics, and industry professionals, stand firmly with the people of Iran in their struggle for freedom, dignity, and a democratic future.

We call for the end of the Islamic regime and urge the Australian Government and the international community to provide clear, public, and decisive support for Iranian protesters who are peacefully demanding fundamental human rights and the rule of law.

In just a few days, the Iranian regime killed thousands of innocent people. If we fail to act on Iran’s water crisis now, this number will not remain in the thousands, it will rise to millions in the very near future.

Iran’s water crisis is not an internal matter confined by national borders. Decades of deliberate mismanagement, politically driven megaprojects, and the systematic rejection of scientific evidence have pushed the country toward ecosystem collapse. This collapse does not stop at Iran’s borders. It leads to uninhabitable land, large-scale displacement, loss of shared river basins and wetlands, regional dust storms, food insecurity, and escalating instability across the Middle East and West Asia.

We believe the vision and transition framework presented by Prince Reza Pahlavi provide a credible and unifying pathway toward a free, secular, and democratic Iran, grounded in meritocracy, transparency, environmental responsibility, and long-term national resilience.

Iran possesses an immense human and technical capacity.

The country is home to highly skilled engineers, hydrologists, environmental scientists, and water-resource experts, both inside Iran and throughout the Iranian diaspora. This expertise has been deliberately sidelined. Current water policies are shaped by political and ideological agendas rather than science, professional judgment, or long-term sustainability.

A change in governance will immediately unlock this suppressed capacity. Iran will be rebuilt and flourish by Iranians themselves. Its existing human capital can be rapidly mobilised to reverse ecosystem collapse, restore water systems, and prevent further land from becoming uninhabitable. Failing to act now will not only condemn Iran’s environment but will impose irreversible ecological, humanitarian, and security costs on the entire region.

As professionals in the Australian water and wastewater sector, we declare our readiness to support a future free Iran through the transfer of knowledge, experience, and modern water technologies, in partnership with Iran’s own experts and institutions.

We will not be silent.

ما، اعضای صنعت آب و فاضلاب استرالیا — شامل مهندسان، دانشمندان، دانشگاهیان و متخصصان این حوزه — با قاطعیت در کنار مردم ایران در مسیر دستیابی به آزادی، کرامت انسانی و آینده‌ای دموکراتیک ایستاده‌ایم.

ما خواستار پایان حکومت اسلامی هستیم و از دولت استرالیا و جامعه جهانی می‌خواهیم حمایتی روشن، علنی و قاطع از معترضان ایرانی که به‌صورت مسالمت‌آمیز خواهان حقوق بنیادین بشر و حاکمیت قانون هستند، ارائه دهند.

در عرض تنها چند روز، حکومت ایران هزاران انسان بی‌گناه را به قتل رسانده است. اگر امروز برای بحران آب ایران اقدامی جدی صورت نگیرد، این اعداد به هزاران محدود نخواهند ماند و در آینده‌ای بسیار نزدیک می‌توانند به میلیون‌ها قربانی منجر شوند.

بحران آب ایران یک مسئله صرفاً داخلی و محدود به مرزهای ملی نیست.

دهه‌ها سوءمدیریت هدفمند، پروژه‌های عظیم سیاسی و رد سیستماتیک شواهد علمی، کشور را به‌سوی فروپاشی زیست‌بوم سوق داده است. پیامدهای این فروپاشی در مرزهای ایران متوقف نمی‌شود؛ بلکه به غیرقابل‌سکونت شدن اراضی، جابه‌جایی گسترده جمعیت، نابودی حوضه‌های آبریز و تالاب‌های مشترک، طوفان‌های گردوغبار منطقه‌ای، ناامنی غذایی و تشدید بی‌ثباتی در خاورمیانه و آسیای غربی منجر می‌شود.

ما بر این باوریم که چشم‌انداز و چارچوب گذار ارائه‌شده توسط شاهزاده رضا پهلوی مسیری معتبر و وحدت‌بخش به سوی ایرانی آزاد، سکولار و دموکراتیک فراهم می‌کند؛ مسیری مبتنی بر شایسته‌سالاری، شفافیت، مسئولیت‌پذیری زیست‌محیطی و تاب‌آوری بلندمدت ملی.

ایران دارای ظرفیتی عظیم در سرمایه انسانی و فنی است.

این کشور از حضور مهندسان، هیدرولوژیست‌ها، متخصصان محیط‌زیست و کارشناسان منابع آب — چه در داخل ایران و چه در میان دیاسپورای ایرانی — برخوردار است. این ظرفیت ارزشمند به‌طور عمدی کنار گذاشته شده و سیاست‌های کنونی آب نه بر پایه علم و قضاوت حرفه‌ای، بلکه بر اساس دستورکارهای سیاسی و ایدئولوژیک شکل گرفته‌اند؛ بدون توجه به پایداری بلندمدت.

با تغییر در نظام حکمرانی، این ظرفیت سرکوب‌شده بلافاصله آزاد خواهد شد.

ایران به دست ایرانیان بازسازی و شکوفا خواهد شد. سرمایه انسانی موجود می‌تواند به‌سرعت برای مهار فروپاشی زیست‌بوم، احیای سامانه‌های آب و جلوگیری از گسترش اراضی غیرقابل‌سکونت بسیج شود. عدم اقدام فوری، نه‌تنها محیط‌زیست ایران را محکوم به نابودی می‌کند، بلکه هزینه‌های جبران‌ناپذیر زیست‌محیطی، انسانی و امنیتی را بر کل منطقه تحمیل خواهد کرد.

ما به‌عنوان متخصصان صنعت آب و فاضلاب استرالیا، آمادگی کامل خود را برای حمایت از ایران آزاد آینده از طریق انتقال دانش، تجربه و فناوری‌های نوین آب و در همکاری با متخصصان و نهادهای ایرانی اعلام می‌کنیم.
