Member for Calare hears about our issue

Teena, Hugh and Kelly met with Mr Andrew Gee MP (Member for Calare) yesterday in Orange after receiving an invitation to meet. We thank Mr Gee for the opportunity to have this issue heard. During the meeting we outlined some specific recommendations as to how the BMP Scheme could be improved to better serve participants and regional/rural communities. This issue currently affects over 7,000 Australian medical students and doctors. Figures provided to us at the end of 2016 indicated that at least 365 individuals have withdrawn from the Bonded Medical Places Scheme for various reasons. Only 93 are actively undertaking their return of service. We will continue to advocate on behalf of those who have supported this petition. Thank you again for your support.
