Stephen Ryan who has hosted the ABC Gardening Australia program for 3 years, has been kicked out by an executive producer who lacks the ability to bring out the best in his presenters. Rarely were we allowed to see the Stephen Ryan that made us laugh and imparted his knowledge. All too often he was reduced to the role of a link man and he was never allowed to pass on his vast experience to those of us who really need it!

A visionless producer is turning gardening Australia into ‘Gardening For Dummies’ and indeed it is time for a change, but not the one that Tim Mitchell envisages.

Bring back the best thing to happen to Gardening Australia in years and get rid of the real dead wood.
