The Issue

Every year the homecoming campaign spreads further and further past the concourse. They go to every side of every crosswalk. Stand in front of class buildings. It means every student is harassed several times throughout the day. They are asked if they have voted. If they make the mistake of saying "no", the girls try to convince them to quickly go on the phone and vote for their person. If the student ignores them completely, the girls will make comments about how rude the student is.

It is impossible to walk anywhere on campus during these campaigns without this onslaught of harassment. As a student myself, I had to cut through 4 different building in an attempt to dodge the 6-10 pairs of girls stationed at the bus stop, the that's concourse, the gin concourse, in front of Haley, on both sides of Broun, and standing at the top of the stairs in front of Shelby.

Auburn students should be able to go to class normally, without being asked if they voted every 20 steps, and without having to cut through buildings just to dodge the campaigners. The homecoming campaign should be limited to the Haley concourse to allow students to walk normally to their classes without harassment.
