On November 19 2016, Tanner Whiteye and Bailey Jacobs were struck by a vehicle while pedestrians, on Centre Street in Moraviantown, Ontario. Jacobs was killed in the accident. Whiteye has been left in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. No charge has been laid against the driver, Brayden Hopkins, who has left Canada for Sweden to continue his hockey career.

The OPP took 10 months to investigate and advised the families that no charge would be laid against Hopkins, providing reasons that make no sense to the family including records of Hopkins cell phone which point to no activity at the time of the accident and airbags that did not deploy, which the police say shows the car was moving slowly. Bailey Jacobs was thrown more than 30 feet to her death according to witnesses.

This petition is to find justice for Tanner and Bailey and have the police re-open the investigation and have Brayden Hopkins charged with an offence.
