Stop the unfair billing of Water & Sewage at The Junction - Student Apartments

On February 20th the residents of The Junction - Student Apartments were notified through email that the apartment complex would be under new management and that we would all of a sudden be charged for water and sewage. On February 27th at 2:04 pm every resident was sent a water and sewage bill of at least $300 set to be due on March 1st. Although we were told and signed an addendum to ONLY pay for electricity, the apartment attempted to back charge everyone for the 6 months we have been living here. The lease states that the "Landlord agrees to furnish water, sewer, pest control, trash removal, and a cable TV/Internet package, for each unit," and we also only signed an addendum at the end of the lease specifically for electricity. There was no separate addendum provided in the lease for water & sewage, which is required by the Public Utility Commission of Texas, for the apartments to charge us for them. The Junction sent out another email on the 28th, explaining that the due date given on the bill was not true and that they would begin "helping" residents set up payment plans. But many of us refuse to accept to pay for something we never agreed to pay. As already broke college students who struggle month to month at times to make ends meet, we believe that we are being taken advantage of.
We are asking for your support to ensure that as residents, we are not taken advantage of just because most of us are college students.
