Update for all of you who continue to sign and support us! We met with Aspirus Wednesday 1/26/2022. Here is what they had to offer us:
- they moved 1/4 percent for a base wage increase for all members
- offered a HIGHER RAISE for SOME not ALL members
- offered ANOTHER short term initiative that would require our OVERWORKED AND EXHAUSTED members to work EVEN MORE HOURS in order to earn the critical staffing incentive
- Aspirus obviously has the means to compensate us if they continue to provide us with cheese boards and water bottles with $5 gift cards attached
Here is what we proposed in return:
- 5.75% raise and a BONUS that would apply to ALL NURSES, TECHS, PHARMACISTS AND THERAPISTS until the hospital was fully staffed
- We believe our proposal would be the much needed lifeline for our healthcare workers that would retain them through these tough times, as well as incentivize healthcare workers to come join us so we can work at full strength. We believe our proposal better benefits our community and the hospital, while management's proposal continues an unequal compensation philosophy that will do nothing to address the systemic inequities in our hospital and system of Aspirus
In addition to these gifts that we continue to receive that don't allow us to pay bills, buy food or put towards childcare, Aspirus is WILLING TO PAY OVER 5,000 A WEEK to travelers for a temporary contract!!
A fair contract would invest in your regular employees and our communities. It is obvious that Aspirus is paying attention to this OUTPOURING support. We can WIN FAIR PAY AND SAFE STAFFING if we keep it up!
