Thank you to all the people who have signed the petition, we are getting close to our first target of 100 signatures - but we need more people power to make the council aware of our request. So if you signed and husband, wife, partner or teenagers haven’t please encourage them to as well.
Yesterday I passed this spot at around 2.30pm and I counted 10 people on the footpath into Farnham that runs from Bourne Buildings up to the point of the crossing. That is 10 people that have crossed that road in the space of minutes - so this is not the isolated spot that you might think it is at first glance. It is the direct route into town from Badshot Lea and vice versa. I personally like it as the route to Weybourne back from town - I feel it is shorter, a different view of our town and I can grab a coffee from Starbucks on the way.
This is also part of the proposed “safe cycle road network” put forward by cyclists in Farnham - so if you know any members of that campaign let them know about our petition as it will further their network if we get it passed by the Council. Together pedestrians and cyclists can make Farnham safer and who knows I might even try cycling myself.
We have the backing from our local councillor for this and our signatures are the support she needs to push it though the council process. Thank you again for your support on this.
