We are not yet at the critical 10-day public comment period. This will happen when the Planning Board publishes notice that the EIS is accepted. We will keep you posted, because during that window of time you can send/re-send your letters requesting a new public hearing. Without a new public hearing, this project may move forward “as is” for the most part.
Update: The applicant has submitted a revised FEIS dated 12/2/21 for the Board to review. This can be found in the Philipstown website. https://philipstown.com/government/planning-board/planning-board-agendas-minutes-index/planning-board-agenda-packets-video-for-2021
After the November Board meeting the applicant was directed to remove all references to alternate access from EMRN. That's somewhat of a relief, but there is still much to be concerned about. Access from Horton Road via the new fire lane is no longer labeled as locked/gated.
Mainly, the proposal still does not create a conservation subdivision. Houses are not clustered and there is limited conservation demonstrated for water, wildlife, and landscape. In addition, there may be new environmental problems caused by soil disturbance and water/sewage management issues.
HHR is on the agenda for this month's Planning Board meeting, this Thursday 12/16 at 7:30 pm. You can watch live on Zoom, see link below, but you must register in advance on the link. The public will not be able to make comments during the Zoom meeting, but it's still good to watch to find out what's going on.
