Dear All,
I have incredible news! Thanks to Zarah Sultana MP and the hard work of our partners at The Sex Education Forum, Brook, End Violence against Women and Girls Coalition and all your signatures, an amendment has been tabled by MPs to the Children's and Wellbeing Bill that would turn our petition ask into reality.
This is a HUGE step forward in making sure young people aged 16-18 have access to vital lessons on coercive control, sexual health, healthy relationships and other important topics covered in RSE (Relationships and Sex Education)– something we have fought so hard for.
You can read the proposed amendment here on page 16: https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/59-01/0177/amend/children_rm_rep_0312.pdf
But we’re not done yet. To show the government just how much this matters, we need to push our petition to 100,000 signatures. This will send a powerful message that 16-18 year olds, who are some of the most vulnerable groups in the country, must be included in RSE!
Please take a moment to share the petition with friends, family, and on social media. Every signature counts.
Thank you for standing with me on this journey.
With gratitude,
Faustine
