Who's Really "Causing Delays"? Why is Seattle Delaying Setting a Date for 85 Days?

559 days ago, after 10 months of public comment with the city of Seattle trying to resolve incorrect statements on endangered species and clean water, we appealed the Environmental Impact Statement for Seattle's unprecedented growth plan. We are now 85 days past the Court of Appeals ruling that Seattle must hear the Orca Appeal at the Hearing Examiner.

🛑 They said there were no endangered species in Seattle except for two species of fish in the draft EIS. The Final EIS was changed to say it's not feasible for species to recover, ignoring NOAA Recovery Plans.
🛑They said pollutants are almost immediately diluted to harmless levels in Puget Sound and ignored retired King County water toxicologist supervisor's letters and oral comments. 

🌊 We asked them to correctly assess the impacts of their growth plan on water and endangered species - instead they said it's not possible for endangered species to recover. Why are they ignoring the presence of endangered species and the NMFS Salmon and Orca Recovery Plans for this region? The argument that trashing Seattle is necessary to protect pristine areas fails - the NMFS salmon and orca Recovery Plans say habitat must be protected in rural and urban areas. 

The Nature Conservancy/WDFW study showed that there is no loss of density when protecting the #trees and green space that reduce, cool, and filter polluted runoff. Polluted runoff is the leading of pollution in Puget Sound and kills salmon (KCDNRP).
