Here Mount Alexander Shire Council's response to the petition.
I find it disappointing that no reasoning or explanation was provided,
as the decision effectively reads as a NO between the lines.


"I write to provide information on the outcome of the above-mentioned petition submitted
to Council requesting Council join the ‘Super Tuesday Bike Count 2027’.
Council has carried the following recommendation during its meeting on the 16 June
2026:
RECOMMENDATION
That Council:
1. Approves the continued use of Active Transport data capture activities
being completed and coordinated by Mount Alexander Shire Council.
2. Notes data captured by Mount Alexnader Shire Council will be shared with
the Department of Transport and Planning and Bicycle Network.
3. Notes that Council Officers will write to the Lead Petitioner on the outcome
of this report.
As advised above, the data collected by Council Officers will be shared with you once the
count information has been consolidated."
