Dear Braggtown neighbors and Durham residents,
After several rounds of negotiations with the developers, the current proposed developments fall far short of what our historically Black neighborhood stated it needs and deserves. Although we were able to push developers to add a small number of affordable units to their plans, and to make minor increases in support for community benefits and environmental protections, we know that this is not enough. We need the Durham Planning Commission to vote “NO” against these developments.
Here’s how you can help:
Email the Planning Commission before the Public Hearing on August 11th.

“I am reaching out to share my support for the Braggtown Community and my support for a "NO" vote on the Proposed Developments “Carver Street Assemblage” and “Old Oxford Road”. I believe that the negative impacts of these proposed developments on the Braggtown Neighborhood far outweigh potential benefits. Equitable development is necessary to ensure that future developments in Braggtown and other areas do not simply reinforce deep inequities in our city”
