We are seeking funding from a Community Bank and the government's Clean Energy Finance Corporation to provide a simple interest loan to Pre Power One Co-op. The funds will be used to install solar panels on 50 houses in a local neighbourhood. Although we founded Pre Power One five years ago, we have only managed to install panels on one house due to the lack of financing. Our efforts to secure funding while maintaining member ownership have been unsuccessful due to the regulations that preserve compound interest loan funding and make it difficult for community groups to obtain finance.
